01 NIMBU
MUSIC VIDEO SERIES
NIMBU is my primary musical project that focuses on bringing South Asian sonics into an indie-dance context. Featured by Rolling Stone, the music videos for my artist project, NIMBU, are unique visual explorations of the classic Indian influences represented in my releases. I write, storyboard and executive produce all of the NIMBU music videos, as well as more recently have taken a director and editing role.
Featured on the left is “Best Western”— which pays visual homage to classic works about the dacoit lifestyle in India, Sholay (1975) and Bandit Queen (1997). The video was shot at the same site as Sholay in the outskirts of Bengaluru, IN. I was the lead performer, writer and executive producer of this project.
02 galaxy of the lost
Animated character music video series
This series was part of the final project of my university animation coursework, which explored a 2D style character music video and then expanded upon in a 3D style music video. In this series, I depict my character stumbling into an illuminated galaxy with a soundtrack from Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed album, DAMN. I designed all the visuals in Adobe Illustrator and animated in After Effects, Cinema 4D and Adobe Premiere Pro.
03 Sunday at the hirschorn
Animated Typography project
I was tasked with creating a short-text focused video inspired by an art piece at the Hirschorn Art Museum. I chose the piece, “Daydream” by Philip Guston. Guston’s painting comments on racial violence perpetuated by the KKK. I designed all visuals in Adobe Illustrator and animated in Adobe After Effects.
04 Supplier Training
Walmart omni supplier onboarding
As a part of the Walmart item setup and maintenance training site for suppliers, I designed and animated GIFs to educate suppliers on best practices for setting up items for Walmart’s omni initiative. This initiative was the largest effort in retail history to create a unified catalog across online and in-store offerings.
05 Little & the bird
Photo collage animation
I was tasked with creating a video with digital collage exclusively designed in Photoshop and animated in After Effects. The theme of this assignment was based on an animated dream. Inspired by imagery from the film, Moonlight, I created a dreamscape set to the tune of Polo and Pan’s song, “Nana.”
